“JM,” as he is fondly called by friends, thus works on the evening shift at a call center company to save money that he needs for the upcoming nursing board examinations. At the same time, he is honing his communications skills in preparation for working abroad someday.
“I believe that I have what it takes to become successful in the very near future,” the 23 year-old MR. CIT 2005 says. “My experiences in life have trained me well in dealing with different situations,” he adds.
Apart from work, he serves at a local center for street children. “I help a priest in feeding less fortunate children. I also teach them about values and inspire them to overcome their hardships,” JM explains, relating his volunteer work as just another part of his long-term goal of becoming a nurse.
JM is proud of being a Cebuano. “We are a very hospitable people, always ready to give visitors a big smile. Our lifestyle has the right balance of urban and laidback ingredients as well as a dynamic mixture of old and modern elements that go well with our rich cultural heritage and beautiful beaches,” he says.
When he is not working or doing volunteer service, this future nurse also loves to engage in his favorite sports, namely: basketball and swimming. JM craves for oriental and European cuisine.
